Profile

Adam Gaither (born September 25, 1981) is a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer from a small town in northern Mississippi where nothing is even remotely cool. He is formerly known as Smash Addams, leader of Memphis, TN based Alt. Rock/R&B group Strange Parallel (2007-10). Gaither also performed and recorded with Oxford, MS based power-pop quartet The Manics (2000-04). He has recorded and self-released nine solo albums since 2004. In 2009, Gaither signed deals for his band and himself with Dayton, OH based indie label Quantum Records. Strange Parallel released a self-titled album (preceded by an E.P. release) and Smash Addams released a double-CD retrospective titled 'Death, Destruction, and Mayhem: The Best of Smash Addams'. SP broke-up due to 'creative and personal differences' in Nov. 2010 and Gaither soon parted ways with Quantum Records. A final Smash Addams CD was released on Dec. 16, 2010. Gaither has since formed a duo with his wife and fellow singer-songwriter Lucy Dawn (also formerly of SP). Adam & Lucy have three albums due out in 2011.
