Love's Addiction

Thursday, May 19, 2011

There’s a sad sort of ironic realization that seems to spring forth whenever we as human beings succumb to our inherent need to be human. Ravaged by our emotional failings we find ourselves enslaved by the shear passion and depth our innate desires. Love, lust, hatred and jealousy become fuel for our ever-growing libidos and cravings. Rational thought becomes a counterpoint to the clear logical application of simple “mother wit”.

Our human emotions hasten the decaying of our rational thinking. Love becomes the a pancreatic cure all for our inability to stand alone utilizing the simple elements of pure and simple reason and concise thinking.  “Our imagined wants over power our true comprehension of what we truly need”, thus instead of giving us solace we are drawn to over indulgence and insatiable gluttony.

When did love come with conditions of reciprocation? When did objectification and depersonalization of those we choose to love become the recipe for “normal” human relationships? “Love invariably hurts” and the pursuit of meaningful love is a losing race toward disillusionment and temporal insanity. Animals love without the propensity for reciprocation of that love. A dog loves unequalled and unparalleled. They give love freely regardless of your return of that love.  Animals just keep on giving and giving with reckless disregard of your response to their affections. Humans with our pride and intellect have fostered a “tic for tac” ideology to how love is to be practiced.

I am not a pessimist but a firm believer in the absolute perfection on pure love and the human ascension to a higher plan of what I will coin as rational emotionalism. There isn’t a balance to loving someone and the mere giving should be enough to fulfill the hardest heart. It is our minds that we should love with leaving our hearts to mere tremors of warmth and trepidation. If we love freely without insecurities we will never know pain or hurt. Only the join from having truly loved without constriction.
